Colorway Board

A colorway board is a visual layout of a style’s color options across the season or a delivery — used to balance the color story, avoid over- or under-coloring a body, and plan color depth before it flows into the buy and size curve.

Color is one of the biggest drivers of apparel demand and markdown risk, and it is hard to judge in a spreadsheet. A colorway board shows the palette in proportion, so the team can see whether a body is carrying too many niche colors or too few core ones.

Color decisions do not end at the board — they feed buy depth by color and, ultimately, the size curve for each colorway. Keeping the colorway board connected to those downstream numbers is what stops a good-looking palette from becoming a markdown problem.
